Message from Mayor Nicholls

Updated: Apr 3, 2020

Dear Yuma area business owners, As we face economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Yuma business community is stepping up to help each other get through this.  The President and Congress have enacted the Coronavirus Economic Stabilization Act of 2020 (CARES Act) to aid economic struggles. It focuses the business response through the Small Business Administration (SBA) and banks to expedite the infusion of aid into the economy.  In an effort to help the Yuma area, many have stepped up with contributions of their time and expertise.  Local public accounting firm Misenhimer, Aivazian & Tennant is one such example.  They aggregated and created a packet of guiding documents for all Yuma-areas businesses, which are attached to this email for your use.  It includes information from the Department of Labor and SBA on key things like navigating assistance for sick leave, disaster loans, and paycheck protection program. These are unprecedented times and we must come together to face critical hardships caused by the coronavirus as a community.  I want to thank Misenhimer, Aivazian & Tennant and the other businesses and groups in the Yuma community who are stepping up to meet the needs of Yuma. Please share the attachments in this email with other business owners in our community who may benefit from it. Take care of yourselves, stay safe and healthy. #YumaStrong Douglas Nicholls, Mayor of Yuma **The packet can be found on the SBA program page under Learning & Live Resources:
